First workshop under the “Teaching the Holocaust” project to be held in Tirgu Mures, Romania
The first workshop under the “Teaching the Holocaust and Helping New Generations Learn How to Live Together” project, implemented by Reason Institute in partnership with Diverse Association, Romania, and Women’s Alliance for Development, Bulgaria, will be held 9 – 11 May 2011 in Tirgu Mures, Romania.
Several reports will be presented and discussed at the workshop:
- Hate Speech in the Bulgarian Media,
- The Image of Roma and Jews in the Romanian Press,
- Teaching the Holocaust as a Mechanism for Prevention of Future Crimes against Humanity,
- Education of Holocaust and National Minority History in Romania, and Slavery,
- Extermination and Deportations of Roma in the Romanian Education System.
Within the framework of the workshop, an event for commemoration of the Holocaust victims will be held at the Holocaust Memorial in Tirgu Mures.
