WAD foundation has started the initiative “Capital with 100 Faces”, a European program led by the Municipality of Sofia. Priority of the project is supporting initiatives related to civil engagement in the long-term development of the city, as well as projects in the category “City and Citizens”.

The project aims to help citizens’ contribution to the revealment of the capital’s potential in economical, social and cultural aspects; to popularize among citizens the European Capital of Culture program; to encourage collaboration between local authorities and civil organizations; to strengthen Sofia’s role as a European capital which has successfully initiated a consultative process on key priorities related to European Capital of Culture initiative.

Interviewers of WAD will lead 100 depth interviews aiming to study the intimate relationship of Sofia’s citizens with their city and to elaborate a concrete conception and vision of the city as a candidate for European Capital of Culture 2019.

The results will be published in a brochure entitled “Sofia – tête-à-tête” and will be then discussed with journalists, municipal representatives, members of the initiative committee for Sofia ECoC, citizens and cultural operators.
