The Program approach allows the Alliance to focus on certain issues, strategic goals, activities, and partners and target groups, and to maximize the results of its efforts achieving stronger accumulative effects. WAD initiates or supports projects in five selected programme areas, such as:

• Networking at national and international level - support and capacity building of the NNEO
• Public Education - Information center
• Leadership Training - Training center
• Political participation of women
• Lobbying and Policy Advocacy

The Special projects approach is a provision, which allows the Alliance to react adequately to the dynamic situation in the country and to remain flexible in its responses to the changing needs and priorities of women. This provision requires allocation of Alliance's human and technical resources to introduce any special project; funding for special projects is attracted from external sources; special projects must reflect and relate to the WAD sustainable development strategies, but are not necessarily part of WAD's longer term program commitment.
